Brazil is interested in the business management and research model of PITA

Science and Technology Park of Almeria received the visit of a delegation from Brazil to know the strategy in the promotion of business development and relations with the University of Almeria

A delegation from Brazil, led by Ney Lazzari, rector of the Vale do Taquari University, which is promoting a Science and Technology Park, visited PITA last week. The aim was to know more about the business and governance model at PITA and how connects the business community with the research activity carried out at the University of Almeria (UAL).

PITA managing director, Trinidad Cabeo and the innovation manager, Alicia Cañadas, hold a meeting with Ned Lazzri to let him know the different projects in which the technopolis participates actively with the UAL. Among the main actions are the Bludea entrepreneurship center, Propeler investment forum, the Ideas Fair, the Summer Courses and the different working groups of the University Foundation that focus on the agri-food sector and innovation.

In addition, the Rector of the Vale do Taquari University hold meetings with other companies at the Park like LAB, experts in food, agriculture pesticide residues, soil, water and food health analysis; Inventia Agrarica, that develops software for the agri-food industry; Ingenia Solar Energy, specialized in photovoltaic projects at an international level; and Tecnova Technology Center, a worldwide reference that develops an intense research and innovation work in auxiliary, post-harvest and fruit and vegetable packaging industry.

The Tecnovates Scientific and Technological Park, located in southern Brazil, develops different research projects related to agri-food biotechnology, production practices, waste and alternative energy management, acarology, food biotransformation, botanics and technology, among others. After the meeting with PITA and the companies of the Park, a short-term collaboration agreement has been reached to establish direct cooperation lines to exchange business experiences and research.
